School Messenger
is our telephone communications system that dials out to all of our parents/guardians. Since we have started using this system, many calls of importance have been sent home. It is imperative that we have the correct primary phone number for each child (although this number may be your home, cell, or even work number - whichever you prefer).

Some things to note:

  • If you have received a call in error, please call 609-748-1250, ext. 1001 to report the error.
  • If you get a recording that is garbled or cut off, you can always come here to read the text of the message that was sent.
  • If you have any questions regarding a message, please call your child's school.
  • If you need to change your primary phone number, please contact the main office of your child's school to correct it.
Attendance Calls:
Calls are placed to homes every day to report students who are marked absent with no reason given to the school's main office. The text of the
attendance phone call
is:

“Good morning. This is Galloway Township Public Schools, calling to notify you that your child, (STUDENT FIRST NAME) (STUDENT LAST NAME), is absent from school today. If you believe you have received this call in error, please call the school to clarify. If you have already notified the school of your child’s absence, please allow this call to serve as confirmation of the absence. We thank you for your attention to this matter.”

August 23, 2012:
Good evening, parents and guardians. This is Joanna Westcott, Communications Officer for Galloway Township Public Schools, calling with an important announcement. Around this time every summer, your child’s school would normally send home a letter announcing the teacher & homeroom of your child, along with other pertinent information to start the school year. Please be advised that in order to both save taxpayer dollars, and to keep with the district’s “green” initiative of using less paper, we have decided this year to send home a postcard with that same information. They were placed in the mail this morning, so please expect to see a 4” x 6” postcard with the district’s logo arriving at your house soon. Your child will receive any other information they need to start the school year within the first week of school. Also note that we have posted supply lists for each school and grade on our district website, which you can access by visiting www.gtps.k12.nj.us, or via our facebook page: www.facebook.com/gallowayschools. We look forward to greeting your children on the first day of school – Thursday, September 6 – which will be an early dismissal day, as will Friday, Sept. 7. Times for early dismissal are 12:20 for the Galloway Township Middle School, and 1:30 for Pomona Preschool, and Arthur Rann, Reeds Road, Roland Rogers, and Smithville Elementary Schools.
