Smithville School is one of seven schools in Galloway Township. The district is very diverse and Smithville is no exception.  Smithville, opening it's doors in 1991,  houses over 600 students and maintains a focus on teaching and learning. Smithville School is a wonderful educational facility where over sixty faculty members work tirelessly to and parents work together to provide the students with a wonderful education. 

EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Smithville's Early Intervention Program consists of three teachers, dedicated to improving student's reading through individual attention or small groups in the primary grade levels. These small interactive learning communities allow for the highest level of reading assistance for those students most in need.  

GEM

The Galloway Enrichment Model is provided for those students who have been designated via a matrix selection process as Gifted and Talented in grades 3-6.  A flexible once a week enrichment program with no formal requirements for services exists in grades K-2.  The GEM teacher is also available to guide enrichment activities for those students who demonstrate high levels of commitment, interest or talent in specialized topics or areas of study.

GUIDANCE COUNSELORS

The focus of guidance counselors is to prepare students to learn, work and live with each other in the 21st century, through developing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students.  The counselors continue to participate in a New Jersey Department of Education School Counseling Initiative with the Greater Egg Harbor Regional School District.

CHILD CARE PROGRAM

The Galloway Township Board of Education is proud to offer a child care program to our students in grades K-6.  Children may attend both Before and After School Programs.  The programs are in operation starting at 7:30 a.m. in our elementary schools on school days only.  The After School Program runs until 6:00 p.m. and is available on select early dismissal days. There are fees associated with both programs.  Please see our brochure for further information.
