BOE Policy)
-
Students
in Pre-K and
Kindergarten
must be met by a
parent or
designated adult
at the assigned
bus stop and
should present
themselves at
the bus door.
Bus drivers are
not allowed to
let these
students off
with a sibling.
If no parent or
designated adult
is at the stop,
the child will
be transported
back to school
at the end of
the run and
placed in our
Child Care
Program. The
charge for a
returned student
is $59.00 on
full days and
$68.00 on early
dismissal days.
-
Students
are not
permitted to
ride home on
another
student's bus.
If your child is
going to a
friend's house
please make
other
arrangements.
-
Students need to
be at their
assigned bus
stop 10
minutes prior
to the time on
the bus pass.
-
The Board of
Education
cannot
provide "door to
door" service
in such a vast
population area
as Galloway
Township,
therefore stops
shall be
established for
several students
living within
the same
proximity and
meeting all
busing
regulations.
Students will
not be required
to walk more
than
three-quarters
(3/4) of a mile
from the bus
stop to his/her
home.
-
All GTMS
Activity Buses
are "Perimeter
Stops Only",
therefore
students will
not be dropped
off at their
regular bus
stop.
-
Students
should carry
their bus pass
with them all
year.
-
Students
are assigned to
one bus route
and shall be
transported to
and from the
same stop daily.
Bus
Stop Changes:
-
If the stop
change is to a
baby-sitter or
other than home
location, please
fill out the
"Babysitter
Form" below.
This is only
available for
long-term stop
changes.
-
A request to
change bus stop
pick up/drop off
location
must be made in
writing
with the
transportation
office using the
"Request for Bus
Stop Change
Form" (below).
Any changes will
take 48 hours
after approved.
No
changes will be
made the first
week of school.
-
When you receive
the bus pass for
the new school
year
(approximately
two and half
weeks prior to
the first day)
please review it
carefully and
contact the
transportation
office
immediately if
it is incorrect
so we can make
the correction
at that time. No
changes will be
made one week prior to
the start of/or
during the first
week of school.
-
If you need to
change the bus
stop because you
have moved, you
must come in and
make the change
of address with
the district
registrar before
a new bus pass
can be issued.
Students and
Parents are reminded...
Riding the school bus is a
privilege. It is imperative that
all students observe the rules
of proper conduct while riding
the bus. To ensure the safety of
all the students, these rules
will be strictly enforced:
-
The driver is in full charge
of the bus and the pupils. -
Serious
misbehavior by students will
result in suspension from
riding the bus. If this
occurs, parents will be
responsible for providing
transportation to and from
school. -
No pupil shall, at any time,
extend his/her hands, arms,
head, or any other parts of the
body out of the window, whether
the bus is in motion or standing
still. -
All students are to remain
seated until the bus driver
arrives at the destination and
comes to a complete stop. -
Obscene language, throwing or
shooting objects, excessive
noise, and other actions
relating to distractions to the
bus driver are prohibited. -
Any and all willful damage to
the bus will be paid for by the
offender or his/her parents.
Violation of these rules will
result in disciplinary action
which may include the suspension
of bus privileges.
