4. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6:20-2.13(e), the Galloway Board of Education certifies that as of
April 30, 2013 after review of the secretary's monthly financial reports (appropriations section) and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, that to the best of our knowledge, no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6:20- 2.13(b) and there have been no changes in anticipated revenue sources and/or amounts so that sufficient funds are available to meet the district's financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Resolution to approve that the Galloway Board of Education does not require Archway Schools, Atco, NJ, to charge students for reduced and or paid meals provided as part of their educational program for the 2013-2014 school year in compliance with the NJ Department of Agriculture's Child Nutrition Program regulations.
9. Resolution to approve amendment #1 of the FY2012-13 NCLB Consolidated Sub grant (including 11-12 carry-over) as follows:

This amendment is a result of an increase in the FICA/TPAF reimbursement that will be due back to the State of NJ at the end of the grant period.

Resolution to approve the itinerant shared services agreement between the Board of Education of the Special Services School District, the Vocational School District of the County of Atlantic/Atlantic County Special Services School District, and the Galloway Board of Education for the 2013-2014 school year. The Atlantic County Special Services School District shall provide to the Local District Itinerant / Shared Services for students to assist the Local District in fulfilling its responsibility in providing related services in accordance with applicable law. The Superintendent recommends approval of the following resolutions for formal Board action, as recommended by Timothy Kelley, School Business Administrator:

  • Informational Item:

Parking Lot and Storm Sewer Replacement at Arthur Rann Elementary School
1. Resolution to authorize the District's Architect of Record, Fraytak, Veisz, Hopkins, Duthie PC, to prepare a revised Long Range Facilities Plan. This plan is required to be updated and submitted every five years to the NJDOE. The fee for this service is authorized at $6,200 as outlined in the firm's proposal. (Attachment F.1)

In order to meet the reporting and updating requirements that amendments for the district's Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) the Board of Education of the Galloway Township Public School District RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
To hereby request that the New Jersey Department of Education change the current status of the district's Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) from approved status to amendable status, and
To authorize the district's architect Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, PC, working in conjunction with the district's School Business Administrator, to perform the necessary amendments to update the district's Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) to meet the five year reporting requirement in accordance with the procedures set forth by the New Jersey Department of Education, and

F. FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE
To authorize the district's architect Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie PC, working in conjunction with the district's School Business Administrator, to submit the updated Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) in accordance with the requirements of the New Jersey Department of Education.

*2. RESOLUTION TO EDUCATE FOR SUSTAINABILITY
WHEREAS, a sustainable community recognizes that everything we need for our survival and well-being depends either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment; and
WHEREAS, all Galloway Township citizens have to learn how to live well in our community without impairing our community to sustain us over time, and we recognize that this knowledge is developed, in part, in our schools; and
WHEREAS, we understand that the students, faculty, staff, and administration of the Galloway Township Public Schools are essential members of our community and central to creating a strong and sustainable future for themselves and future generations; and
WHEREAS, we accept our responsibility to making sure that we have and will continue to have the water, materials, and resources to protect human health and our environment; and
WHEREAS, we commit to honoring all our citizens and leaders with practices that guarantee a greener community and a sustainable future; and
WHEREAS, the Galloway Township Middle School Student Council unanimously voted to bring forth this resolution to the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, there are programs that will support school and community connections related to educating for sustainability. These may include teacher workshops, classroom presentations, and school projects, facilitated by the school district's liaison of the Go Green Sustainable Task Force of Galloway Township; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that in order to educate for a sustainable future, Galloway Township Public Schools will join with Galloway Township and the local Go Green Team to provide the following:
1. Actions that support student participation in academic learning experiences dedicated to educating for sustainability;
2. Professional Development opportunities that will prepare teachers and administrators to educate for sustainability;
3. Sustainable practices related to school buildings and grounds, operations and maintenance procedures.
We do hereby recognize Galloway Township Public Schools as an agent to carry out our commitment to building sustainable communities through Education for Sustainability in the state of New Jersey.
