2022-2023 School Breakfast & Lunch Updates

Hello Galloway Families,

We wanted to clear up any confusion surrounding the lunch policy for this school year.  Unfortunately, the USDA chose not to extend the wavier to allow ALL children regardless of status to eat Free at ALL schoolsTherefore we are returning to pre-pandemic Universal Free Breakfast for all and the National School Lunch Program

This means:

  • ALL children can eat breakfast for free every day.
  • If you think you qualify for Free/Reduced meals, you must complete a meal application and submit it to the Food Services Department at your earliest convenience.

Please also be aware of District Policy #3250.1 Food Service Charges.

The Board of Education understands a student may forget to bring lunch or money to purchase lunch to school on a school day. When this happens, the food service program will provide the student with lunch with an expectation payment will be made the next school day or shortly thereafter. However, there may be circumstances when payment is not made and a student’s school lunch bill is in arrears. The school district shall direct communications about a student’s or school lunch bill being in arrears to the parent or guardian and not the student. The school district will manage a student’s lunch bill that is in arrears in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 18A:33-21 and this policy.

If you have questions or concerns please contact Lauren Murray, District Supervisor of Food Services, at 609-748-1250 ext. 5046 or by email at [email protected].

Thank you!
