Dear GTPS Community
We are excited to announce the launch of our new GTMS Esports team! This is the first year of our program, and we are thrilled to offer a variety of ways for students to get involved.
About the Esports
Esports is a growing phenomenon, and we believe it's an excellent opportunity for students to develop valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and sportsmanship. Our team will participate in the Garden State Esports League, competing in exciting games like Rocket League, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Brothers.
How to Get Involved
There are multiple ways to be part of our Esports:
Club Members: All students who are passionate about gaming but may not be interested in competitive play or not make the teams are welcome and encouraged to participate. Club members will have the opportunity to learn about esports, play games together, and explore other aspects of the Esports industry like marketing, broadcasting, and project management..
Competitive Teams: Students interested in competing in Rocket League, Mario Kart, or Super Smash Brothers will need to try out for a team. The next season for these games in the Garden State Esports League will be Spring of 2025, more information will be shared then regarding tryouts and schedules.
What is the Goal of Esports
Have fun and make friends: Enjoy playing games with others and build friendships.
Learn new skills: Develop problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
Be a good sport: Treat others with respect, even in competition.
Stay safe online: Be mindful of online safety and responsible gaming.
