Immunization Requirements

Immunizations: Certain immunizations are required for school attendance. Please CLICK HERE to find out what immunizations are required for school attendance in the state of New Jersey (Grades K-8; PDF). Preschool students are also required to have a yearly flu shot up until the age of five, as well as a vaccine of PCV and HIB on or after the first birthday - CLICK HERE for Preschool requirements (PDF).

Immunizations for 6th Grade: Every April all 5th graders and their parents will be given letters informing them of the 6th grade immunization state mandated requirement. Every September all 6th graders who will be 11 years of age on or before September 1st and who are currently enrolled in, or transferring into, a NJ school from another district, state, or country will be required to receive:

- A booster dose of Tdap ( tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis ) and

- One dose of meningococcal vaccine.

These immunizations must be completed by the first day of school and be given to the school nurse. Failure to complete these requirements will result in the exclusion of the student. If the student does not turn 11 until after the first day of school, he/she will need to meet these requirements within 14 days from his/her eleventh birthday.
