ARES Update Jan 28

Dear Arthur Rann Families and Staff:

The following serves as another important update regarding the status of the Arthur Rann Elementary School.

In my communication to families and staff on January 27th, we anticipated releasing our plan regarding the relocation of Arthur Rann students and staff, to other buildings within the district. As you can imagine this is an enormous task with a magnitude of obstacles when attempting to relocate approximately 670 students and approximately 109 staff. While space is a challenge, even more pressing is the gathering and distribution of needed materials and supplies, breakfast/lunch, transportation needs, and parent drop/off and pickup in the new locations, are just a few of the many obstacles when developing a plan of this magnitude.

While our administrative team and staff have been working diligently around the clock to finalize our plan, I am informing all of you that our plan will not be ready to be released until the end of this week, with implementation occurring sometime during the week of February 2nd. Therefore, the Arthur Rann School will be CLOSED on Thursday, January 29th and Friday, January 30th. I realize this is an inconvenience for all of our parents/guardians, but as a team we will not implement a plan that we are not ready to execute, as the safety of all of our students and staff will remain at the forefront.

As mentioned previously please continue to monitor your email, as this will be our primary method of sharing further updates.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience but thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

NOTE: If you're receiving this communication and your child is in preschool, but attends the Gateway Head Start preschool program, they should attend school like normal and follow the Gateway Head Start calendar/schedule.

Sincerely,
